Aloha!

This week was super nuts, but so so good! Sister Jolley and I had exchanges with the Ewa Beach sisters this week!  I knew that it would be super hard for me to go back to my old area again, and we felt like Sister Chapman should get a chance to lead her new area, so I stayed in Makaha with Sister Blackner and Sister Jolley went to Ewa Beach with Sister Chapman! Sister Blackner and I had a blast! I got to introduce her to some of the people that I have met so far, and we had the opportunity to teach one of our new investigators together. It was really neat.
There has been a really big push in our mission to talk to more people, so this week Sister Jolley and I decided that we were going to try to talk to at least 100 people. The first few days, we met a ton of new people, so we set appointments with them throughout the week. At the beginning of the week, we had at least 4 appointments every day! It was awesome! We found a golden family! They are all interested in the gospel! We met with Withy this week, who is part of the golden family, and we committed her to be baptized on December 19th! She is so prepared! She was so excited to go to church and everything! Then, on Saturday, Sister Jolley and I had appointments in the morning that all fell through, so we decided to walk all day and just talk to people. So, we left our car at our house and started walking. Well, it turned out to be one of the coldest and rainiest days of the week, but we kept going. We talked to so many people that day! It was amazing! One of the guys that we talked to was this guy who would barely give us the time of day, because he was busy working on the side of the road. Then, at church, we got a text from him that said that he knew that we had prayed for him, because his men that were working on the road almost got hit, but the car stopped just in time! That was an amazing wake-up call for me on how prayer truly does work. Heavenly Father was able to teach that man and us through that experience, about how real He is.
This week I think that the number one thing that I learned is that Heavenly Father truly does know us each individually, better than we know ourselves. So, if we are willing to turn to Him for help, He will guide us to make decisions that will bring the most happiness into our lives now, that will last into the eternities.

I love you all. Thank you for you prayers, love and support.

Love, Sister Sydney Barber
